The day begins in St. Moritz, a town that helped shape the history of Alpine tourism. Situated in the Upper Engadin Valley at around 1,800 metres above sea level, it is known for its clear mountain air, lakeside setting, and long connection to winter sports. As you walk through the town, your guide will explain how St. Moritz grew from a small mountain community into one of Switzerland's most recognised resort destinations. Along the way, enjoy views of Lake St. Moritz and the surrounding peaks while learning about the traditions and culture of the Engadin region.

Beyond its international reputation, St. Moritz remains closely connected to its local roots. The Engadin is one of the few areas where Romansh, one of Switzerland's national languages, continues to be spoken, reflecting a strong regional identity that has been preserved for generations.

From St. Moritz, continue into the Bernina region, home to some of the highest peaks in eastern Switzerland.
